Rules & Regulations

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 26 (1) read with section 11 (3) of the Pakistan Nursing Council Act, 1973 (Act No. XXVI of 1973) with the previous sanction of the Federal Government, is pleased to make the following regulations.

REGULATION

1) This regulation shall be called the provincial Nursing Examination Board (Functioning) Regulation-1980.

2) The Provincial Nursing Examination Board shall make rule of conduct of their proceedings with the approval of the Pakistan Nursing Council.

3) The rules so framed shall not be contrary to the provisions of the Pakistan Nursing Council, Act, 1973 and Regulation framed by the Pakistan Nursing Council there under.

CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

There shall be established a Board, under section-II of the Pakistan Nursing Council Act, 1973 to be known as the Provincial Nursing Examination Board, which shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and common seal shall by the said name sue and be used.

DEFINITION

"BOARD" means the provincial Nursing Examination Board constituted under section-II of the Pakistan Nursing Council Act, 1973. "Chairman" means the chairman of provincial Nursing Examination Board.

EX-OFFICO MEMBERS

i) Chairman: Secretary, Government of the Province, Health department.

ii) Vice-Chairman: Chief Nurse of the Province of in the absence of such a post, a senior Nurse of the province.

iii) Controller of Examination shall be ex-office member and act as Secretary to the Board.

OTHER MEMBERS

i) One Doctor directly involved in teaching of Nurses.

ii) Three Nurses directly involved in teaching of Nurses/Midwives/Heath Visitors to be nominated by the Provincial Government.

TERM OF OFFICE OF MEMBERS

i) Subject to the provisions of the rule, a nominated member shall hold office for a team of three years from years from the date of this nomination.

ii) A nominated member may at any time resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Chairman of the Board and the seat of such member shall thereupon become vacant.

iii) A nominated member shall be deemed to have vacated his seat:-

a) If he causes to represent the particular interest which he was nominated to represent.

b) If he is declared by the Board to have been absent without sufficient cause from three consecutive meeting of the Board.

iv) A nominated member shall be eligible for re-nomination but not more than two consecutive terms.

v) The nomination of the members other than those appointed by virtue of their office shall be notified by the Govt. of the provinces
